What this service is — and what it is not

My Days Abroad counts days. It helps you keep track of time spent in a country and shows how that time measures against published rules such as the Schengen 90/180 limit, the six-month limit for visitors to the UK, the US Substantial Presence Test and the UK Statutory Residence Test.

It is not legal, tax or immigration advice, and we are not your adviser. The results are arithmetic based on the dates you enter and on our reading of the published rules. They are a planning aid, not a determination of your status.

This matters more here than in most software. Getting a day count wrong can mean an overstay, an entry ban, or an unexpected tax residency. Before you act on a number from this service — booking travel, filing a return, applying for a visa — check it against the relevant authority or a qualified professional. Where official guidance and this service disagree, the official guidance is right and we are wrong.

  • The rules we implement change, and governments do not always announce changes promptly. Our reading may lag behind or be mistaken.
  • The public holiday calendars come from a third-party library and may be incomplete or wrong for a given country or year.
  • Real cases have exceptions our calculators do not model, such as transit days, exempt individuals, split years and treaty tie-breakers.
  • We count the dates you give us. If those are wrong, the answer will be wrong.

Guides and links to other websites

Alongside the calculators we publish guides on how long you can stay in different countries and on tax residency. They are general information to help you understand the rules, not advice on your situation, and they may not cover your case.

Each guide shows when we last reviewed it. Rules, fees and financial thresholds can change after that date, so check the current position with the official source before you rely on a guide.

Guides link to official websites and other third-party pages so you can check the rules at the source. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your data.

3

Your account

You can use every calculator without an account. If you create one, you agree to give accurate details, to keep your password to yourself, and to be responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

4

Acceptable use

Use the service for its purpose and do not interfere with it or with other people's use of it. In particular, do not:

  • Attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service, its rate limits or its security.
  • Access it by automated means beyond ordinary use of the site, including scraping.
  • Use another person's account, or let another person use yours.
  • Use the service to break the law, or to store content you have no right to store.
  • Resell or redistribute the service or its output as if it were your own product.

Subscriptions, payment and renewal

Some features require a paid subscription. Prices include any VAT or sales tax that applies. They are set in pounds sterling, and at checkout you may be offered your local currency instead; if you pay in it, the converted amount is shown before you pay.

Subscriptions are sold through Link, Stripe's reseller service. For the payment, Link is the seller (merchant of record): it takes the payment, collects and pays any VAT or sales tax, sends your receipts and invoices, and handles questions about charges. Bloom Desktop provides the service itself. We never see or store your full card details. On your bank statement the charge appears as LINK.COM* DAYSABROAD.

A subscription renews automatically, monthly or annually according to the plan you chose, until you cancel it. The payment method you used is charged at each renewal.

Pro for life is a single payment that gives you the paid features for as long as My Days Abroad runs, with nothing to renew. It belongs to your account and cannot be transferred. If you delete your account, or receive a full refund of the payment, it ends. If we ever close the service, we will tell you by email at least 3 months in advance.

If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you by email before the change takes effect, and you can cancel before it applies.

6

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing page, or from your account at link.com. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until that period runs out.

Your consumer rights for the purchase, including any right to cancel within 14 days where it applies, are set out in Link's terms of sale, which you accept at checkout. You can ask Link support for a refund, and Link may issue one under those terms. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Beyond that, we do not generally refund part-used periods. If something has gone genuinely wrong, write to us and we will deal with it fairly.

7

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running but we do not promise any level of uptime. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because something outside our control has broken.

We may add, change or remove features. If we withdraw a feature that a paid plan depends on, we will tell you and refund the unused part of what you paid for it.

8

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Subject to that, we are not liable for losses caused by relying on the results of the calculators — including fines, penalties, refused entry, immigration consequences or tax assessments — because, as set out above, those results are a planning aid and not advice.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.

9

Ending your access

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and cancels any active subscription.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that is being used in a way that harms the service or other people. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

10

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

11

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may be able to bring proceedings there.

These terms are published in several languages. If the versions differ, the English version applies.
